At KCCRT, our members are crucial in providing peer support and critical incident stress management during and after traumatic events. Whether responding to critical incidents or large-scale disasters, we ensure timely and effective assistance to those in need.
What We Do:
Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM): We deploy to provide immediate support following traumatic events, helping affected individuals and communities recover.
Psychological First Aid (PFA): We offer crucial support to disaster survivors, especially after Governor’s Disaster Declaration, providing behavioral health support in diverse settings.

Our team operates on a peer support model, where members leverage their experience in relevant fields or as chaplains and behavioral health professionals to offer impactful assistance.
Membership Requirements:
1. Apply for Membership: Complete our application process to begin your journey with KCCRT.
2. Background Check: A comprehensive background check will be conducted. If cleared, you’ll proceed to the next step.
3. Reference Check: We will verify your qualifications through a reference check.
4. Orientation and Interview: A KCCRT staff member will schedule a virtual orientation and interview with you.
5. Training Courses: Complete the following courses and submit your certificates:
- Psychological First Aid: PFA Online Course (Self-paced)
- ICISF Critical Incident Stress Management: Includes “Assisting Individuals in Crisis” and “Group Crisis Intervention” (KCCRT will assist in scheduling)
- Incident Command Systems 100: ICS 100 Online Course (FEMA EMI)
6. Field Experience: After completing the required training, you’ll be added to our deployment roster. You must complete at least one response with an experienced member before becoming fully credentialed.
